What is Water Balance?

Water balance is the term when the chemical demands in your pool have been met. If chemical levels are too low the water shall aggressively seek out the chemicals it needs. This may lead to severe corrosion problems by attacking the pool surface. If the levels are to high scale formation may occur.

Why is my pool cloudy?

There can be many causes of cloudiness. The filter may not be running properly or may need cleaning. Make sure you check and clean the filter:

  • If you have a sand filter you will need to backwash it.
  • If you have Diatomaceous Earth (DE) filter you will need to remove the candles, clean and re-coat with DE Powder
  • If you have a cartridge filter, you will need to clean it using your standard garden hose. We also recommend every 12 months that you soak your finer in cleaner and degreaser which Adrian’s Pool Services can supply.

How much salt do I add to a salt water pool?

The amount of salt needed for the salt chlorinator to produce sufficient chlorine varies, depending on the type of chlorinator. The manufacturer’s recommendations should be strictly followed to avoid damage to the chlorinator and to insure adequate chlorine production. Have your pool water professionally tested with Adrian’s Pool Services to determine how much salt is needed.
